Happy First day of marathon training cycle to me. If you're a runner like me then you know how excited I am. I almost couldn't sleep last night just anticipating my first run. I'm healthy and I'm ready for a solid run at Jacksonville this year!! Yea!! :)
Today's run went well. I'm going to go thru my weekend on this post and then end it off with the results of today's run. So here we go.
First of all on Friday was day 3 of my 9 day cleanse. I was finally able to eat real food again and that was awesome!! I downed a shake after my run, ate a banana and had a great healthy lunch. Saturday I got up 4:30 am to head down to Davis Island and run with my running group, The Blue Sharks. We start at 5:30 am every Saturday morning. I had a great run on Saturday. 10 miles at a 9:05 pace which was solid for me and right where I wanted it to be. Recovery Drink was an Isalean Pro Chocolate Shake. After the run I weighed myself. I was down to 165 lbs but that was after my run so I will check that again some time today or tomorrow.
Picked up the kids on Saturday and we came home and made a pizza for lunch before heading over to see Amy and the boys. :) I will post more about the pizza tomorrow because it was super delicious!!
Sunday we had Church in the morning and then I watched my good ole TB Bucs give away a game on Sunday to the NY Jets... Unbelievable!! :( Oh well there's always next week. I did make some tasty homemade salsa to go with the game which was still delicious even though the Bucs lost. Went to bed early and did my best to sleep before getting up at about 6:30 am for today's run.
Today was a great run!! This training plan is tough with a lot of miles however I believe in it because I know how ready I was for Twin Cities last year after going thru this marathon training cycle. My run today was 8 miles with 4 miles at threshold pace. 2 miles warm up, 4 at threshold pace and then 2 miles cool down. Splits were 10:26, 9:50, 8:01, 7:46, 7:56, 7:55, 9:47, 9:39. Recovery Drink was a chocolate Isalean Pro shake. Great start to my plan.
So that was my weekend in a nutshell. I'm on day 6 of my 9 day cleanse and I'm not looking forward to those 2 cleanse days at the end. I can do it though.
So have you ever run a marathon?? Do you use a training plan or do you just make it up as you go??
This is TY signing off. As always allow the Universe to work in your favor and be blessed... :)
